The AIWCW QUEENSLAND/NT Branch is very
pleased to announce that they have organised three ongoing professional
development seminars to be held this year.
The first of these is:
GETTING
TO KNOW ME
As practitioners in the
community sector, it is essential to possess a thorough knowledge of ourselves
– who we are, and why we are who we are – so that our own issues do
not get caught up with those of our clients or our colleagues. If this happens
we are more likely to be ineffective, perhaps even harmful, rather than
helpful.
Understanding
ourselves is an important factor in living our lives fully. Recognising and
accepting that we are all “works in progress” helps us to convey
empathy more effectively and to develop more harmonious personal and
professional relationships with others. So come along and engage in the joy of
self-discovery by:

Please note that
there is a 2 week gap between sessions to enable attendees to put into practice
what they have learned before progressing to the next stage. As such, it is not possible to attend
only one or two of the sessions.

strictly limited to 15 attendees, you will need to send your registration form
and payment as soon as possible to secure your place. Please note that, if
possible, we will be running this seminar again in 2009 and those who miss out
this year will be given preference in attending next year.
