The Skin Ceuticals antioxidants are effective in creating a barrier against the external harmful elements and naturally preventing the inner molecular movement to protect your skin from al problems. The most common antioxidant products of Skin Ceuticals are Resveratrol B E, AOX + Eye Gel, C E Ferulic.

Exfoliates as the name suggests, are used to exfoliate the skin and remove the dead cells and blackheads from the skin. This is an essential part of the skin care procedure as proper exfoliation can reduce acne problems, skin aging and black heads. However, excessive exfoliation of the skin makes your skin prone to cracks and itches. Skin Ceuticals also offers a wide array of Exfoliants. You can definitely find Micro exfoliating scrub and Retinol 0.5 among the products displayed by Skin Ceuticals.

With the increase in pollution and the ozone layer depletion, sunlight is now not safe enough. Thus, you need to use sunscreens which will protect your skin from the harmful UV rays as well as moisten your skin. Skin Ceuticals brings for your products like Physical eye UV Defense SPF 50, Daily Sun Defense SPF 20, Physical UV Defense SPF 30 and Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50.

Your eyes are the most important part of your face as they convey your emotions without speaking. Your lips need care because the skin on your lips is thinner than the rest of the skin on your body. Hence, when you are using any product for your eyes or your beautiful lips, you should be careful that they do not create any irritations. Skin Ceuticals brings to you several eye and lip care products – Physical eye UV Defense SPF 50, A.G.E Eye Complex, AOX + EYE gel, and Eye Balm to name a few.

Why You Gotta Love Glycolic Peels

Psst… If I could tell you that you can do glycolic peels at home, with much more affordable cost, would you be interested? I bet you are, because getting them done at beauty spas is way expensive that getting it regularly seems impractical (not to mention costly). Well, if the money factor is what has been setting you off in the first place, read on this piece and I will tell you how exactly you can do pampered peels right in the comfort of your home.

I’m not kidding, you can save hundreds of dollars and your skin still looks good to rival results made in spas. Keep in mind though, some peels may work while some is not for your skin – a simple step of caution, along with a little help from your dermatologist is highly recommended.

Glycolic peels works by ‘melting’ the glue that binds skin cells in the topmost surface of your skin, to make room for new skin to emerge, which translates a brighter, smoother, flawless, and softer skin. Repeated use of the peels will also help for collagen growth in the dermis layer, resulting a firmer skin (bye-bye sagging skin!).

What you should know with glycolic peels is that this kind of treatment creates a cumulative effect – you need to do at least six to eight peels, spaced between one to two weeks – for the skin to really shows up the positive effects. Although, I’m happy to add that it depends on other factors as well, like the percentage of glycolic acid strength use in each treatment, and how well you care for your skin, post op.

But that’s not to say that you should jump up to 100% glycolic acid for your first ever home treatment! And we don’t want your skin to rub raw and oozing blood. For at home use, it’s best for you to start with 20% (maximum) of glycolic strength with a pH of 2.8 to 3 and see how your skin reacts with it. Remember, this thing is acid, so proceed with caution as you would in a lab.

Begin by treating a small spot on the forearm (using the same concentration and pH as you would on the face). Wait for a couple of minutes until your skin turns pinkish to neutralize the acid. Test if your skin is itchy or stingy, which means you may need to reduce the concentration even further. If it’s good, then you’re good to go.

My opinion would be to do a little bit of research to know what kind of glycolic peels and brands that you can use, and bring it to your dermatologist to help you further. He’ll may even be happy to recommend you good stuff and pointers so you can get even better and longer results!
